I was commissioned by a pregnant couple who live in the mountains of Boulder to paint this for their nursery. Mexico and Mexican culture is important to them and they wanted a jungle scene so I chose to highlight one of the waterfalls and many of the beautiful and endangered species of the Lacandon Jungle in Chiapas, Mexico. Sadly, due to human activity, only 10% of this amazing rainforest still exists.
